August 2025 Motorcycle Events in Wisconsin

Where the Rubber Meets the Road

August is peak riding season in Wisconsin. The roads are warm, the nights are long, and there’s no shortage of rides, rallies, and runs bringing riders together from across the Midwest. Whether you're a veteran on two wheels or just getting started, these events remind us why we ride—and why it’s worth taking a little extra care to stay safe.

We put this guide together for one reason: to keep riders informed and prepared. Because the only thing worse than missing a good event is getting hurt at one.

Indian Bike Week

📍 New Richmond, WI | 🗓️ August 7–18, 2025
🔗 indianbikeweek.com

Held at Rivers Edge Apple River Campground, Indian Bike Week draws a massive crowd—and not just Indian riders. It’s open to all bikes, and this year they’re aiming for a Guinness World Record for the largest Indian motorcycle parade. Between live music, daily rides, camping, and tubing on the river, it’s easy to forget just how packed and rural some of those roads can get.

Heads Up:

  • The small roads into New Richmond can get clogged fast.

  • Long days and long nights make for tired riders.

  • Cell service can be spotty when you need it most.

Pro Tip: Hydrate, don’t push past your limits, and throw on some reflective gear before dusk.

Black River Rumble

📍 Black River Falls, WI | 🗓️ August 14–17, 2025
🔗 https://www.cyclefish.com/motorcycle_event/89520/black-river-rumble-after-sturgis-gathering

Black River Rumble is wild in all the ways you expect: burnout pits, loud music, and a clothing-optional beach. It’s not for the faint of heart—and that’s kind of the point.

Heads Up:

  • Alcohol and riding don’t mix. Ever.

  • Some of the private campground roads have poor lighting.

  • Crowds can mean tip-overs, especially at low speed.

Pro Tip: If you're partying, stay put. Don’t risk your life—or someone else’s—trying to ride back late.

Ride to Remember

📍 Neillsville, WI | 🗓️ August 16, 2025
🔗 https://www.cyclefish.com/motorcycle_events/WISCONSIN/order/starttime%20ASC/date_from/08-01-2025/date_to/08-31-2025/view_type/0

This one’s got a different tone—quieter, more reflective. Ride to Remember honors fallen service members and includes multiple group rides that all end at The Highground Veterans Memorial Park. There’s a name-reading ceremony, music, and a strong sense of community.

Heads Up:

  • Riding in formation can be tough if you’re not used to it.

  • Emotions can hit hard—especially if you’ve served or lost someone.

  • Some rural sections have limited emergency access.

Pro Tip: Go to the pre-ride briefing. Know the route. Ride at your comfort level.

Big Unit Poker Run

📍 Milwaukee, WI | 🗓️ August 31, 2025
🔗 https://bigunitfoundation.com/events

Organized by Bill Michaels, this one’s more relaxed: a city poker run starting at the Harley-Davidson Museum. Police escort, checkpoints, prizes, and a good cause behind it.

Heads Up:

  • Urban traffic means distracted drivers and unexpected moves.

  • Getting split from your group at lights is almost guaranteed.

  • Watch for potholes and construction.

Pro Tip: Use a motorcycle-friendly GPS and don’t assume other drivers see you.

Ride Safe Out There

Whether you're rolling into a campground party or riding in honor of someone you lost, a little preparation goes a long way:

Before You Head Out:

  • Check your bike: brakes, tires, lights, fluids.

  • Gear up: Helmet, gloves, boots, and abrasion-resistant clothing.

  • Pack smart: License, insurance, registration, water, and first-aid basics.

If Something Goes Wrong:

  • Call 911. Get medical attention right away.

  • Document everything: photos, names, and statements.

  • Don’t say the wrong thing at the scene—talk to a lawyer first.

Know Your Rights:

  • Wisconsin OWI laws apply to motorcycles.

  • Loud pipes and custom lighting can get you pulled over.

  • Tickets and insurance denials can be fought—and often should be.

We’re not in this for the spotlight or the swag. We’re here because too many good riders get hurt and then get blamed for it. If you get into a crash, get cited, or just don’t know what to do next—we’re here to help.

Here’s what we offer:

  • Free case evaluations for riders hurt on the road

  • Help with planning and legal guidance for ride organizers

  • Special support for veterans and their families

Final Word

August is full of unforgettable rides. Some are rowdy. Some are sacred. Some are just plain fun. No matter where your tires take you, ride smart, look out for your fellow riders, and remember—if things go sideways, you’ve got someone in your corner.
